Under Vanderbilt Overpass

This is actually my own favorite from yesterday morning (pre-dawn). Something I would never had done if I was working with a tripod which I would have felt compelled to use with slower film. One of those - I've stood here a million times and never looked up shots. And of course the pigeon - symbol of New York - which should be put on the City Flag - helps.

Hi Dave,

Have you tried developing HP5@1600 in DD-X. I've been experimenting with using only one film and one developer. I wonder if DD-X is a good all round developer for HP5+ @ 400, 800 and 1600.

Hi Jeff -

Not yet, but I'm planning to. I did one roll with DD-X @ 400 @ 75F (whatever their recommended time was) and wasn't crazy about the look.

But I also found the same thing with Tri-x, that it was better at 68F.

So I'm going to do some HP5 @ 400 @ 68F today - and eventually work my way up to 1600.

Thanks. I've been developing HP5+ with HC110. My friend told me that it gives pleasant result. I'll see how it does at 1600.

Please do post the development information. I found them very useful. And of course your pictures are a joy to see too!
