tri-x

Cat on Pipe

I'm getting closer... These were done with Tri-x and TMAX developer. I've seen different times for this film. Inside of the box says, 6.5 minutes; TMAX developer says, 6.0 minutes. I did it at 6 minutes / 400 ASA / 6 minutes / a bit less agitation then the recommend.

Actually, seems a little too contrasty to me, no?

Yes - it is too contrasty. I'm still testing various combinations. The last thing I did tonight was Tri-x in Ilfotec DDX. When I first looked at the negs. they looked much thinner than anything I had done so far.

They actually scanned better than I thought and the histograms of the scans looked very good.

I'm going to shoot another roll with Tri-x and the DDX tomorrow and boost it a bit.

The whites are blown and the image appears too "hot" on my monitor, a 23" Apple Cinema display calibrated with a GregTagMacBeth Eye-One

I've since left TMAX developer (for that reason). Everything I did with TMAX dev. was too hot.

I'm using DD-X in the more recent shots (Tatto Reflection) and I don't think anything is blown there.
