Jeff - as you know - I'm not the evangelist type. But it has been mostly fun for me to go back to developing my own film. Initial cost for the basics - not much more than a 1GB CF card.
Expense of film and chemicals will build up though; not to mention a good film scanner (which I had already with the 5400)
On the other hand - I only scan the "keepers" so disk space and backups are no longer an issue.
The major difference is that I don't have to worry about "the look" of what people call blown highlights. In fact - they seem to have a nice "glow" compared to blown digital highlights and I've even accentuated them in some shots.
Now - don't tell anyone - but I even pulled my old Pentax spotmeter out and used it a couple of times last night.
