Matt Weber - Shot of Dave

Portrait by Matt Weber
Matt Weber photographs me as I photograph the woman across the way. One of the few recent pictures of myself that I like. One thing I'll tell you - watching Matt shoot - he is damn quick. Thanks Matt.

I was accepted into a number of affiliate ad programs. The question I pose to you is: what kind of things are photogaphers interested in. Does it all have to be photography related? How boring. Would you like to see ads for iPods? Or gift flowers? Teddy Bears from Vermont? I think that Tylenol would be a big hit.

Tylenol w/ Codeine would be even better the way my back feels these days! (though my "Catlike" reflexes would suffer a bit)

I don't know if they advertise that - I'll have to check. Actually, they probably do at foreign drugstores.

Possibly drugs and alcohol would be good sponsers.

GET YOUR CHEAP BOOZE HERE

Maybe anything cheap. I think there's a walmart affiliate program - need to check.

I once told my sister who's a social worker that it would be a good idea to start a practice specializing in artists.

Turns out, there is already an institution (no pun intended) that specializes in artists - here in NYC. It's on the West Side but I don't remember the name of it.

Could cats be the photographers official pet? Stealthy. Quick. Mysterious.

I was just reading that Weston's house was filled with cats - mostly strays. But I'm betting that Ansel kept dogs if he had any pets.

Yeah. Maybe ads for Buddy's favorite: Purina Cat Chow. Though recently he ate a small piece of a croissant. Maybe he's a French cat. That's the only other thing I've ever seen him eat.

There is a very old and scarce book by Weston from '48 called "The Cats of Wildcat Hill" which are photos that Weston took when he was suffering from Parkinson's and unable to leave his home. He took care of like two dozen stray and somewhat feral cats. (something I did for many years, although my crew peaked at 15) So yes the cat is the way to go...
