misc

A lot of rain in New York and I've been in it all morning with the M3. The only quibble I have with the C/V 28mm external viewfinder - when it got wet - man it got fogged up (inside) and I couldn't unfog it until I got home. Of course the Leica viewfinder was fine all morning. And I came back completely soaked. I'm still doing this thing with runners at the track - practically lying down in the mud to try and get unusual angles.

I added blog listing to the sidebar that I like with something called BlogRolling which is somewhat useful in terms of managing blog lists. If you have a photoblog to suggest - let me know.

Yep. Similar to what I went through. I had taken the router out of the loop - so when whoever says its the router I knew it wasn't that.

And the ISP had pointed me at a virtual network site that you can use to see if it was something on their (ISP) end or not.

And things were working through the VPN.

I knew after a bunch of pinging etc. that there was a router between the ISP and the cable company (RoadRunner) and there wasn't much I could do about it except wait for the middle guy to get it fixed even though I wasn't sure who "owned" that part of tunnel.

Yes - it was a merry goose chase. And eventually it just "cleared up" on its own - i.e. the router in the middle was fixed.

Don't really know how common this sort of thing is - only happened to me once in a couple of years. But yes - average use would be up the creek without a paddle.

The price of progress I guess.

Thanks Roy.

True. I need time off from this "publishing adventure" sometimes. It seemed sort of crazy at the time to make the blog the home page since basically I'm trying to sell prints - but it has made life easier - since I really only have to update the blog once in a while and not the home page as well.

I had such a great time today in Central Park in the rain. It is amazing to me how empty the park becomes when this is absolutely the best time to shoot there.
