Negatives

Hanging up strips of film to dry. Look carefully at the frames. How'd you do? You blew that one. But you got the other. What mysteries are revealed? Nothing like it.

Do you miss digital at all?
Peace,

In a word: "no." In a few words: "man, not one bit."

...on the other hand, I have taken to digital like a duck to water, and for now, there's no looking back.

I found that after an absence of over 20 years, and at age 52 (this was 4 years ago,) I no longer had the patience for film development and darkroom work. At least not while I have a 9-5 job and family responsibilities. Maybe I'll go back to it once I retire.

One reason that digital has really worked for me is that I now do strictly color. If I had really wanted to stay with B&W, I can see that digital would still be a problem.

Best regards,
SteveR

Blown highlights and sometimes lack of dicipline is making me consider going back to film. However the siren song of digital is so strong........
but... ultimately I prefer the look of medium format film images. The tonal range, and something I can't quite express or explain I find in MF images.
Got to break away for that song...
Probably the only way to do it is sell off the digital cameras..
If they're still around.....

I would have to say that I am firmly in the digital camp (don't think I could fit any more equipment in my apartment for one thing).

I would say though that for all the advantages having that little screen on the back of the camera provides, I still have to wait until I get home and can see them on the larger screen to decide whether I got what I wanted for sure.

One thing I think digital has done is open photography up to more people. For some that might not be a good thing, but when I look at some of the photos on Flickr these days I see some amazing images, many of which I don't think would be there if digital wasn't so accessible. Flickr is a huge time waster by the way ;-)
