STEELWORKER SCULPTURE

STEELWORKERS, #2, UNION SQUARE

STEELWORKERS, #1, UNION SQUARE

Which one do you like better. I like #2 better because of the trees in the background and I think having a better sense of the entire sculpture. In case you can't tell, or haven't seen this before - it is actually sitting atop a truck, and I suppose can be moved around the city. Whether it is an exact reproduction in sculpture of the famous photograph (was that one done while building the Empire State Building?) I don't know. But I haven't seen this before in Union Square and my initial reaction was: only in New York.

I'd go for second one Dave. The sculpture in the first one seems to lead the eye to the building and takes the attention away from itself. There's no doubt what the subject is on the second, but it'd be better if that car with door ajar would've moved. Put your finger over the car to hide it and see the difference:)

I really like the background of the second one. The car door works for me. Makes it look more lively and real, almost as if the workers had gotten off the car and hopped up.
Will this be available for sale? It's an excellent pics..

I like #2 also, car door and all. Makes it a little bit more "real."

I don't put anything up for sale until I'm happy with the print - so that's the next step. But it looks like it should print well.

There is something about this - the grafitti - and the old time steelworkers and the sense of location - I like it a lot.

My vote is for #2 as well.
I've seen this one in SoHo a couple of years ago.

Still prefer the surreal with no car, but yep, great image! Was convinced at first some of those guys were real amongst the statues:)
