Here's the link for info on the
Mermaid Day Parade. I usually wind up at this event. The pull of the ocean and the fun pagan ritual. This year I plan to sneak my camera on the roller-coaster and shoot from there - both the parade and the roller coaster experience. Maybe I'll hide my camera in an airline sick bag.

You are not allowed to take cameras - or use them on the cyclone. They kicked me off the last time before the ride got started.
You just pay a few bucks to get into the area where the mermaids are assembling, or being assembled. I think last year it was $10. You don't need a press pass. And it will be mobbed with photogs.
I'm tempted to do the one-lens thing this year; the m3 with the 50mm. That's been my walking around outfit lately. I might bring the 28mm for the roller coaster. Then of course I had the crazy idea of shooting the roller coaster with and the beginning of the mermaid thing with infrared - I have one roll left. I'd have to bring the bessa for that since the M3 as noted has problems with IR.
I can't imagine what this thing would be like in the pouring rain - but I am planning on going rain - or shine. I'm just going to bring the m3. If I do punk out because of the rain - I'll let you know.
