Grand Central Interior 2
Been looking through the 4 x 5 stuff for a good Grand Central shot. I think this is it.

Actually, I think your first one 'is the shot' for me. That one had more life, activity, beauty to it. This one is fine, but find it more stagnant, blah. I like the bookend people at either end of the frame at the foot of the stairs, otherwise, this one just doesn't affect me like your first GCI posting.
I have a question, Mr. Beckerman - would you be able to take these types of photos there today? Set up your camera on a tripod and photograph within Grand Central? Sad if one could not. If it like it was when I was there in the August of 2004, would be interesting to get shots of full dressed military walking around with M-16's, or whatever weapon of death they carry around these days.
I like this one better - but you know it's sometimes hard to see the subtle things that are going on in terms of tonality in the web image.
These GC shots were with a large view camera on tripod and I don't know if you can get permission anymore to do this at GC. Back when I shots these you could go to a little office in GC and get a permit for a specific location to shoot. But I have no idea whether you can still do that.

Great picture, Dave. I love Grand Central Station. Especially in the summer. They have fantastic icecream and basketballs.
